Below-average temperatures, snow expected over mountains

Damascus, SANA- The country is still affected by low air pressure in all layers of atmosphere accompanied by a wet and cold air mass.

The temperatures will remain from 3 to 6 degrees below average, Meteorological Department said in its Sunday bulletin.

The skies will be partly cloudy to rainy with heavy rainfalls accompanied by thunder over most regions, especially the coastal region, snow is expected over mountains of more than 1000 meters, the bulletin added.

The Department warned against the formation of frost, ice and fog over mountains and some inland regions at night; the wind will be southerly to southwesterly with a moderate speed and some active gusts that exceed 75 km/h, while the sea waves will be high in amplitude.

The expected temperatures in some Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 10/5, Daraa 8/4, Homs 10/6, Hasaka 8/4, Tartous 16/11, Aleppo 6/2, Deir Ezzor 13/6.
