Cuban President reiterates support for Syria, rejects US sanctions 

Havana, SANA-Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel stressed the firm stance of Cuba in support for Syria, particularly in its war against terrorism, and against the continuous Israeli aggressions that threaten peace in the Middle East and international peace and security.

The President, while receiving credentials of Mr. Ghassan Obeid as Syrian Ambassador to Cuba, in the presence of Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, Díaz-Canel, expressed his absolute rejection of the measures, restrictions and sanctions imposed by the US, the common enemy, on the Syrian people, which aim to obstruct the reconstruction process that the Syrian people and government aspire to achieve and hinder the process of economic development.

The Cuban president praised the heroism of the Syrian people, army and government in confronting the systematic terrorism supported by the West, expressing his appreciation for the honorable stances of Syria at international forums and organizations, and the continuous support that Cuba receives from Syria.
