46 thousand food packages to be distributed in Hasaka next week

Hasaka, SANA- Hasaka governorate has received 46,000 food packages from World Food Program (WFP) that will be distributed to displaced families in the province next week.

During a meeting for members of the relief sub-committee in Hasaka on Thursday, Issam al-Hussein, Director of social affairs in Hasaka, noted that the packages included 887 tons of food materials, 546 tons of lentils, 672 tons of rice and 580 tons of flour.

He added that 4 airplanes loaded with aid and relief supplies provided by the UNICEF have arrived in al-Qamishli Airport in the past two days.

For his part, Hasaka Governor, Mohammad Za’al al-Ali, said that more than 160 thousand food packages were distributed to families in need during 2014 in cooperation with a number of international and civil organization
