Saturday weather: Rainy weather prevails, snow over mountains

Damascus, SANA- Temperatures continue to drop to become from 2 to 4 degrees lower than average as the country is affected by a low air pressure in all layers of the atmosphere accompanied by a cold and wet air mass.

The Meteorology Department expected in its Saturday bulletin that the weather will be cloudy to rainy, rain will be heavy accompanied with thunder and snow is expected over the mountains of more than 1100m in height. The winds will be southwestern of moderate speed, while the sea waves will be medium to high in amplitude.

The expected temperatures in some main Syrian cities are as follows: Damascus 09/04, Daraa 10/03, Homs 10/03, Hasaka 11/04, Lattakia 13/08, Aleppo 10/05 and Deir Ezzor 14/05.

Rain fell in some areas across the country during the past 24 hours as the heaviest amount reached 62mm in Lattakia, while snow fell in the villages and towns of Damascus Countryside as the thickness of snow reached 15cm.

Rain amounts in some Syrian provinces, according to the rain bulletin issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, are as follows: 1.5mm in Damascus, 28.6mm in Quneitra, 18mm in Damascus Countryside, 35mm in Homs, 11mm in Hama, 24mm in Tartous, 30mm in Aleppo, 16mm in Hasaka and 7,8mm in Deir Ezzor.
