PM: Adopting cooperation with private sector to achieve industrial security

Damascus, SANA – Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi stressed the importance of cooperation with the private sector in setting the industrial and economic policies that will enhance the strength of the national economy.

During a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the situation of the industrial zones and means of bolstering their efficiency, Premier al-Halqi said the government is working on eliminating all obstacles affecting the activities of the industrial sector as industry is the cornerstone in developing all other sectors.

The meeting also tackled issues related to the suggestions and recommendations made by industrial sides and the damage inflicted to the industrial sector in the country.

Al-Halqi also expressed relief over the return of industrialists and investors to pursue their business in industrial zones, highlighting that President Bashar al-Assad granted huge support to this sector through issuing a number of regulations and laws.

There are four major industrial zones in Adra, al-Sheikh Najjar, Hasya and Deir Ezzor. Efforts to create more industrial zones in other areas were interrupted by the crisis.
