Army repels al-Nusra attack northwest of Hama

Hama/Idleb, SANA – Syrian Arab Army units repelled on Friday evening an attack by terrorists from Jabhat al-Nusra and groups affiliated to it in the direction of al-Hamamiyat village coming from the directions of Tal al-Sakhr, al-Habbit, Kafrzeta, al-Arbaeen, and al-Jabeen, in which the terrorists used tanks and vehicles, some of them equipped with machineguns, and suicide bombers.

SANA’s reporter said the army clashed with the terrorists who attempted to breach defenses using suicide bombers and car bombs, but the army destroyed them before they could reach their targets, leaving a number of terrorists dead or injured while others fled to the areas from which they came.

At the same time, terrorists coming from the direction of Tal Meleh and al-Jabbin fired rockets at Braidij, Karnaz, and al-Suqailibiye northwest of Hama, causing material damage, and the army retaliated with concentrated fire on the sources of the attack, destroying terrorists’ fortified positions.

Earlier, the reporter said army units targeted positions of “Turkistani Party” terrorists in al-Zyara town and al-Mosheik village in the northern countryside of Hama Province, inflicting heavy losses upon the terrorists.

He said that army units targeted with artillery fire Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists’ positions in Morik town, killing or injuring many of the terrorists.

In Idleb province, artillery of the army targeted Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in Sarmin town and Madaya village where weapon caches were destroyed and terrorists were killed.
