Mikdad affirms importance of Syrian-Iranian relations in realizing mutual goals

Damascus, SANA – Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad received on Sunday an Iranian parliamentary delegation chaired by head of the Iran-Palestine Parliamentary Friendship Group at the Iranian Parliament Amir Khojasteh.

Mikdad asserted the importance of Syrian-Iranian relations and their role in achieving the two countries mutual goals, as well as serving Arab and Islamic causes in the region, primarily supporting the Palestinian people in reclaiming their rights and establishing an independent state with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.

Mikdad reiterated Syria’s condemnation of the recent US decision to list the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization.

He also praised the strong relations between the Syrian People’s Assembly and the Iranian Parliament.

For his part, Khojasteh congratulated the Syrian people on the victories they achieved against terrorism, affirming Iran’s support for Syria in the face of terrorism.

He also reiterated Iran’s condemnation of the US declaration on the occupied Syrian Golan, asserting that the Golan will forever be Syrian.
