Syrian Society for Treating Children’s Cancer holds musical event at Damascus Opera House

Damascus, SANA – Children from the Syrian Society for Treating Children’s Cancer performed in a musical event titled “We Sing for Hope” at the Opera House in Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts on Sunday.

The event, which is part of the “Dose of Hope” campaign launched by the Society, began with a short film showing Syrian artists joining the children from the society in artistic and musical activities, with these artists calling out to support the Society in treating and caring for 533 children with cancer.

The Association’s choir which consists of 60 children, accompanied by a musical ensemble conducted by maestro Nazih Asaad, performed a number of traditional songs from the local heritage and a children’s song.

During the event, the Association presented commemorative plates to a number of artists, musicians, and journalists, as well as presenting certificates of appreciation to its volunteers.

The event was concluded by songs from Aleppo’s heritage performed by singers Ahmad Khairi and Fouad Maher.

The Syrian Society for Treating Children’s Cancer was established in Aleppo in 2012 with the goal of providing medical, social, psychological, and educational support to children with cancer. It is working to establish a center for treating children’s cancer.
