condemnations of the twin terrorist bombings in Homs continue

Capitals, , SANARussia strongly condemned on Thursday the twin terrorist explosions that hit a compound of schools in Homs and claimed the lives of scores of people, mostly students.

Two terrorist bombings hit an area near a school compound in Ikrima neighborhood in Homs city as children were leaving school, leaving 32 dead and more than 115 wounded, mostly children.

“Moscow condemns in the strongest terms this bloody crime which claimed the lives of safe children and this stirs resentment in particular,”  A statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry said, describing this crime as “heinous”.

It added “we express deep consolations for the relatives and families of victims and hope quick recovery for the wounded people.”

In the same context, Tehran denounced the terrorist act.

A statement by the Iranian Foreign Ministry called on the countries which claim they fight terrorism to stop their finical and arming support to the terrorists instead of “show actions” in the field of terrorism.

It expressed regret over the UN silence of the crimes perpetrated by the armed terrorist organizations.

Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon also condemned in the strongest terms the twin bomb attacks that targeted a school compound in the central province of Homs on Wednesday.

UN Secretary-General Spokesperson described in a statement published on the website of the UN Wednesday the terrorist attack as an act of the utmost depravity.

Ban reiterated his call on all sides in Syria to halt violence, appealing to all Syrian, regional and international actors to redouble their efforts to bring this horrific conflict to an end and help reach a long-overdue political solution, according to the statement.
