With one hand, karate player gains republic title of game

Hama, SANA- One-handed Karate player Roula Farhat gained the first place in the individual fighting at the Republic Championship of under 14 years category with one hand only.

Despite having a handicap in one of her hands, Roula managed to excel as she was classified in the category of exceptional athletes.

Speaking to SANA, Roula said that her great love for karate was a strong motivation for her to excel in this difficult game despite her health situation which could have hampered her ambition.

“I seek to be a part of the national team in any future tournament because my family supports and encourages me all the time,” Roula said.
The Juvenile player will be well prepared in preparation for participation in any external tournament that is reserved for people with disabilities.
Roula, born in 2006, started her practice when she was seven years old. She ranked third in the 2016 Republic Championship under the age of 12 and in the following year she won second place to win the title in this last tournament. Roula has also a black belt.
