Syria and Iran discuss parliamentary relations

Damascus, SANA-The Syria-Iran Friendship Association and the National Security Committee and the Foreign and Arab Affairs Committee at the People’s Assembly discussed with Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security at the Iranian Shura Council, Alaeddin Boroujerdi and the accompanying delegation means to promote parliamentary relations between the two friendly countries.

Head of the Assembly’s National Security Committee Fayssal Al-Khoury stressed the importance of developing Syrian-Iranian relations in all fields and signing agreements to strengthen them to match up to the political ties, hailing Iran’s great role in supporting the Syrian people and backing their steadfastness since the beginning of the terrorist war against Syria.

Boroujerdi pointed to the deep fraternity and friendship ties binding the Syrian and Iranian peoples, underlining the importance of accelerating the pace of invigorating the development of mutual cooperation.

During the meeting, Boroujerdi said his country is ready to transfer its expertise in various economic, scientific and cultural fields to the Syrians, vowing utmost efforts to reconstruct what has been destroyed by the terrorist war against Syria.

He revealed that a number of Iranian officials will visit Syria in the near future to sign a comprehensive document on economic cooperation.
