Al-Jaafari: Syria determined to liberate all Syrian territories including the Occupied Golan, Afrin, Raqqa and Idleb

New York, SANA – Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari stressed that the zero hour approaches for the liberation of Eastern Ghouta from terrorism, renewing Syria’s rejection to any terrorist or hostile foreign forces on its territories and its determination to liberate all Syrian territories including the Occupied Golan, Afrin, Raqqa and Idleb.

Al-Jaafari made his remarks during a UN Security Council’s session on the situation in Syria.

He added that only 2 out of the 15 UNSC member states have embassies in Damascus, therefore, the information provided by these two states is more accurate to describe the humanitarian situation in Syria and assess it in an honest and objective way.

Al-Jaafari referred to the liberation of the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo city in 2016, noting that such victory has not been possible without the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab army and the support of the Syrian people, allies and friendly countries.

The testimonies of tens of thousands of civilians evacuated from the Eastern Ghouta shed light on the terrorist groups’ practices against them like seizing freedom, dividing families and preventing them from leaving the area in order to use them as human shields, in addition to confiscating humanitarian assistance materials and targeting the safe corridors set up by the Syrian government with fire and mortars causing the martyrdom of dozens of civilians, including many Palestinians, al-Jaafari said.

He added that the hysterical behavior of some UNSC member states over the past days and weeks in parallel with the Syrian State’s efforts to exercise its sovereign right and fight terrorist organizations, cleanse its territories and restore security and stability provides an evidence that the states which support terrorist groups aimed at doubling the suffering of the Syrian people instead of alleviating it in an attempt to blackmail the Syrian government and save the terrorists from their inevitable tragic fate.

Al-Jaafari added that al-Ghouta did not fall as the US Permanent Representative to the United Nations said, but it was liberated as east of Aleppo, and what has fallen is terrorism.

The UN Security Council held 49 formal sessions to discuss the so-called humanitarian situation in Syrian so far, not to mention the unofficial and urgent sessions during which the member states listened to false reports and briefings submitted by some senior officials at the UN serving the policies of a number of influential western states and putting pressure on the Syrian government, said al-Jaafari.

He pointed out that those reports lack professionalism, objectivity as they disregarded acts of aggression against Syria’s sovereignty, safety and territorial integrity including  the direct attacks launched by the US-led international coalition, the Turkish regime or the Israeli enemy as well as all types of support provided by the same parties to the terrorist groups affiliated to Daesh and Jabhat al-Nusra.

The Syrian diplomat said that there are states which still refuse to admit that the humanitarian crisis in Syria emerged due to foreign investment in terrorism and the unilateral measures imposed on the Syrian people despite the presence of 49 reports and the convening of hundreds of meetings and thousands of working hours.

He added that UN Under-secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs, Mark Lowcock stated that Kashkoul area in Damascus Countryside was hit by a missile but he did not reveal the identity of those who fired it. Moreover he noted that there are 8 shelters for those leaving Ghouta and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, the UN and its partners are providing help to them but he ignored the Syrian government’s efforts to host 150,000 civilians evacuated from the Eastern Ghouta.

Al-Jaafari added Lowcock indicated that 153,500 citizens headed from Afrin towards Ta Raf’at fleeing the combating activities and ignored that the Turkish aggression forced them to leave their houses in Afrin, noting that the UN Undersecretary General referred to the Syrian government’s approval to send a humanitarian aid convoy to al-Rukban Camp but he did not mention that the US was hindering its delivery.

“The armed terrorist groups have got instructions from terror-sponsoring countries to use chemical weapons again in Syria and fabricate the evidence just as what has happened before in order to accuse the Syrian government,” al-Jaafari said.

According to the information we provided yesterday, the intelligence apparatuse of terror-sponsoring states in cooperation with the so-called White Helmets organization and western media are preparing for a new scenario about using toxic gas against civilians in al-Hara town after which injured people will be transported to Israeli hospitals, said al-Jaafari, adding that the whole process is planned near the disengagement line zone in the Syrian occupied Golan. A similar scenario is set up to be implemented in al-Habet and Qalb Lawzeh villages in the countryside of Idleb province.
