Mor Maurice Amsih appointed Archbishop of Jazeera and Euphrates

Hasaka, SANA- St George Syriac Orthodox Church in Hasaka hosted on Saturday a holy mass on the occasion of the appointment of Mor Maurice Amsih as Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Jazeera and Euphrates.

Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All East Mor Ignatius Aphrem II told SANA that this celebration expresses the return of life and recovery to Syria that has always been a country of life, peace, and national unity.

The Patriarch noted that the wide participation of the locals and social figures is a message that Syria is on its way to recovering from the effects of war and destruction and restore stability, calling for immigrants to return their home and participate in rebuilding it.

For his part, Archbishop Amsih referred to the high national spirit of locals in Hasaka, al-Jazeera, and Euphrates areas despite of the difficulties they faced during the past years.
